228 Days to Go: Way Better Today
Did another half Ironman today and felt so much better I cannot even tell you. It is probably 10 percent due to fitness and 90 percent due to eating properly.
I ate: 3 bananas, 1 powerbar, 1 cliff bar, 1 gatorade.
Those calories make all the difference in the world. The rules of physics apply to everyone, even people in really good shape. I am totally amazed. How many calories is that? 230 + 240 + 300 + 400 = about 1200 calories which is 400 calories / hour. That felt about right but perhaps a bit low.
Also I thought I’d start a clothing log since the winter months are making this a challenge:
Wore road pants and two long sleeve shirts. I sweated on the uphill and froze on the downhill, but that seemed about perfect for a 40 degree day with sunny skies and minimal wind.
Also, as the hours increase I feel the need to make sure the training is not conflicting with work so I will document on training days my work hours as well:
5am – 9am office
9am-12:30pm bike
1:30-4:30 office
total work hours: 8 hours
Listened to several sermons by Chip Ingrim. Seems like a really neat guy.
