108 Days to Go: 10 Miler
Cranked out 10 miles today on the run averaging just under 9 minute miles. That is a slow pace on decently fresh legs and I was tired after that. I’m not sure how the rest of my training is supposed to prepare me for a full marathon after a 112 mile bike. I am still on track, so we will see. I also have to take into that the race is intended to kill me (in other words, it will be very painful and require every ounce of effort). Given that perspective, I could have gone quite a bit further, but still.
The temperature today was perfect. I can pretty much bank on the fact that my idea of perfect conditions (i.e. 40 degrees) will not be present come June 22.
Listened to two OT lectures by Doug Bookman. I love his perspective on the OT and hope to implement much of his wisdom and knowledge in our 1 Samuel series coming up. I came away from those sermons with increased resolved to study and put in the work required to understand and appreciate the OT. So much of the NT is written with the assumption that the OT is looming large in our minds. If the OT is no where to be seen, then a lot of the meaning is missed!
Here’s the satellite map of my run.
