130 Days to Go: Z4 Work on the Bike

My training schedule introduces some Z4 heart rate training. I hadn’t realized that I had done so little of this kind of training as it was really hard for me. My legs were burning and the whole bit. You would think from reading this that I was doing it for a long time; actually the Z4 portion of the training was 5 minutes (with 55 minutes of Z2) and then a 15 minute Z2 transition run. The run felt amazing. I felt like I was gliding on a sheet of glass. I love that feeling. I read more of Paul Rand’s book on Pain and am still loving every word. I just hang on every word he writes. His perspective is so needed in my soul.
