Hike to Blue Lake

Every year we try to take the family on a hike to Blue Lake. We call it our test hike, just to see if the boys are ready for something a little more challenging. This was Dawson’s first time walking by himself and he did great. Although, I think it was his max. The other boys were amazing! They are totally ready for the next step. Marc and Dawson kept fussing about mud in their toes so we had to stop and let them explore the world of mud. Shoes off and toes in! Dawson never did partake, but the other boys had fun letting the mud ooze through their toes. To everyone’s surprise a little salamander or newt thing came to join the party. Fun, fun…

Our Little Runner

Here is our little marathon runner at his Pumathon Awards Ceremony at school. We all cheered as he received his medal for running 45 miles during his lunch recess during this year. Only three people ran more than he did, which is pretty good for a 1st grader!

Caleb's First Duathon

Caleb was determined to run a race this year. The one he picked? Camel’s Back Duathon. The course? Run 1 mile, bike 5 miles, and run 1 more mile. He did great! Was at the first of the pack until he accidentally ran about an extra mile at the end. He didn’t seem to mind the mess up and had fun doing the race. Like father, like son….

First Try at Making a Cartoon

I was inspired today to try and make a children’s story but decided that I first needed to be able to have good illustrations. Since I am not much of a painter, I thought I would try to use real photos (you can see the original photo a couple of posts down.) Here is my first try!

Here is my second. I don’t like the colors as well in this one, but oh well. Looks like less detail and close up photos work best.

The Waiting Game

I now associate adoption with waiting. Patients, reliance on God and prayer are all included in that. We are now starting our second and final year of this particular waiting game. The first year was indeed all waiting and absolute zero action. That was a little hard on me (Jason is better at this game!), so pray that I will wait patiently this next year and have faith in the fact that the Lord is the One who directs the steps of men and that anything that is supposed to happen will happen regardless of any situation. But also, please pass our name on to anyone you may know!!

Dawson is Three!

Wow, all I can say is that I can not believe that my youngest is now three. No more poopy diapers, no more strollers, no more sippy cups, YES!!! Dawson is such a wonderful son. Thank you Lord for giving us a child who brings so much love into our family!

Visiting Great Grandma and Grandpa Stewart

A little awhile ago we went to go visit my grandparents who live down in Southern California. We had such a nice time. The boys loved riding on the golf cart and picking their own grapefruits. The weather was amazing and very enjoyable to be out in after being cooped up all winter here in Idaho. We all really enjoyed seeing our family too. All of my little cousins are now bigger than me! It was so fun to see them all grown up!! We all wished we could live closer to Grandma and Grandpa.
